Sad Sad! Flood Hits 8 Local Government Areas In Kano State

Kano State Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Agency (SERERA) says it has dispatched personnel to eight local government areas of the state recently affected by flood to assessing the damage caused by the disaster in the areas. The Executive Secretary of the agency, Alhaji Ali Bashir, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday. He said the team had visited seven out of the eight local government areas concerned to compile report on the situation. Bashir listed the local government areas as: Rimin Gado, Tofa, Dawakin Tofa, Gwarzo, Danbatta, Kabo, Gezawa and Gabasawa. “The team has so far visited and assessed the situation in Rimin Gado, Danbatta, Gezawa, Gwarzo, Tofa, Dawakin Tofa and Kabo local government areas. “As I am talking to you now, we are in Gabasawa Local Government Area, assessing the damage caused by the flooding in the area,” he said. [Sad News] Mother Of Two Stabbed To Death In Ekiti

A 25-year-old mother of two, Miss Kehinde Olomola, has died from injuries she sustained during an attack in her home at Igede community in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti. Her twin sister Taiwo, told newsmen, on Thursday, that the late Kehinde did not survive a stab she received in her neck, and that she died at the Federal Teaching Hostpital (FETHI), Ido-Ekiti, on Monday. Taiwo claimed that when she called her twin sister on the telephone, at about 9pm on Sunday, “I heard a male voice in the background and I angrily ended the call after inquiring about the male voice.” She said: “The male voice was strange to me, I got angry and I said ‘what is a man doing in your room at such late hour’. Adeleke, who is the father of the musical star, Davido said this on Friday evening when his foundation visited Ile Ife Prison to donate 300 mattresses and the same number of pillows to the inmates and to offset the medical bills of the sick ones among them. Media outlet shuts down after three reporters are killed Central African Republic

Published August 30, 2018 A Russian investigative media outlet that sent three journalists on a mission to the war-torn Central African Republic announced that it was shutting down. The Investigation Control Centre admitted previously that Orkhan Dzhemal, Kirill Radchenko and Alexander Rastorguyev were on a privately organized mission to shoot a documentary about Russian military trainers when they were killed in an ambush on July 30. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it made no secret of military presence in the CAR. Suspected cultists murder 90-year-old in Rivers

Chukwudi Akasike,  Port Harcourt Some suspected cult members have killed a 90-year-old man after setting his house ablaze. The incident was said to have happened in Egbeda community in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday. The victim, who was identified as Assor Woke, was killed in his house by the assailants. Sources said the incident  caused panic in the community as indigenes could not ascertain the reason the old man was killed. Woke was said to be the oldest man in the area and had always preached peace in the community before his demise. The Chairman of Egbeda Community Development Committee, Ukwoha Omereji, condemned the killing of Woke and described it as worrisome. A 28-year-old man, Kelvin Michael has been arrested by policemen from Ogun State Police Command in connection with the death of a 40-year-old Monsurat Idowu after s3x romp. Nigerian Tribune learnt that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday after one Benjamin Okereke of the State Hospital, Ota, reported to the police that the suspect brought the lover to the hospital dead, and could not explain the circumstance surrounding her death. Suspected Fulani gunmen kill pregnant woman, rape others

Umar Muhammed, Lafia Unidentified gunmen believed to be Fulani militia have again attacked Tiv farmers, killing a pregnant woman, raping and injuring scores of others in the Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Northern City News  gathered that the gunmen shot a 28-year-old woman, Mrs Dorcas Mbagbidi-Akaahan, and injured scores in Tse Shiga,  Azara area of Awe LGA. The attackers were said to have laid siege to the community in the early hours of Monday, shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents, but Mbagbidi-Akaahan was hit by stray bullets leading to her death.
