The Nigerian Army has urged the family members of kidnap victims to intimate security agencies of demand for ransom by kidnappers. The Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. John Agim, made the call when he briefed newsmen on the activities of Operation Sharan Daji in Gusau on Tuesday.  Agim said the payment of ransom by victims’ families without the knowledge of the security agencies encourage kidnappers to continue their criminal activities.   He said families should disregard threats from kidnappers that they should not inform security agencies about ransom payment, adding that informing security agencies would help in monitoring and arrest of the criminals.  Agim said intelligence and information sharing on all forms of criminality should be encouraged among communities, especially with the establishment of a civilian joint task force in the state.    He commended the state government for establishing the task force to complement the w...

This is a blatant lie. If we are armed, Nigeria Army cannot face us. “If we have weapons with us, Nigeria Army is too small to face us. With our courage, braveness and bare hands, they are running away, talk more of when we have arms. They are cowards.” Zango also accused the Police of planting persons with arms among them. See What’s Missing In Buhari’s WAEC Attestation Certificate

Image
The controversy surrounding the West African School Certificate (WASC) Examination result of President Muhammadu Buhari was laid to rest on Friday as the West African Examination Council (WAEC) handed to the President the attestation of the certificate issued to him in 1961. This sparked outrage among Nigerians who feel the president and the examination body are being dishonest over the issued certificate as they want to know why the President’s current passport photograph was used in the new certificate for an exam which was written in 1961. However, WAEC went further to explain – “since it is an attestation and not the original certificate, the passport photograph that was submitted during application is the one that would appear on the certificate when ready.” A man identified as Ebiware Tevin took to Facebook this morning to enlighten Nigerians on the issue of current passports used for attestation certificate as he shared pictures of his friend’s WAEC certificate ...

Breaking: ASUU begins strike

Image
Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has commenced strike. Also the organised labour Sunday night shunned meeting organised by the Federal Government to resolve the impasse on the new minimum wage. Non of the labour leaders attended the meeting at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. One of the key officers of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, told Vanguard that the meeting was irrelevant as the only meeting they would attend was the one scheduled today for the signing of the report of the Tripartite Committee. It was reliably gathered that labour leaders switched off the phone lines to avoid distraction from the government team. Already, Vanguard gathered that the Federal Government has decided to punish some unions that would heed the directive of the labour centres to proceed on strike action Tuesday.

Buhari’s certificate: IPOB to sue WAEC in Ghana

Image
By Vincent Ujumadu AWKA—THE leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, said he had instructed IPOB lawyers to file a case of international fraud, forgery and deception against the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, before a Ghanaian court, to challenge the council’s recent attestation of President Muhhamadu Buhari’s West African School Certificate, WASC. In a statement by the IPOB media and publicity secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, conveying highlights of the broadcast of the IPOB leader made through Radio Biafra, Kanu argued that there was no WASC in 1961. He said: “How is it that Buhari’s result attestation is being issued under West Africa Senior School Certificate, a system not yet in existence in 1961? How can an institution like WAEC that was not in existence in 1961 be attesting to the certificate of examination they did not conduct? By involving themselves in this fraud, they have rendered every result or certificate they ever...
